VINTAGE ROY ROGERS YO-YO STORE DISPLAY BOX ONLY - EARLY 1950S ORIGINAL

OFFERED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION:
A original Roy Rogers Roundup King yo-yo store display box from 1950-51 which held a dozen yo-yos. The box has a
die-cut lid that folds back to make a shelf display. It measures 7" x 4-1/2" x 2-1/2" deep. No yo-yos are included in this auction.
The yo-yo box was produced by Nebraska-based Western Plastics to promote a national Roy Rogers yo-yo contest. The yo-yos were in production at the manufacturer when the facility was destroyed by a tornado on May 30, 1951. Consequently, the contest never took place -- and the surviving yo-yos and display boxes were never distributed.
The box is in generally nice condition with a few imperfections here and there. There had been a slight bit of separation at each end of the die-cut, but those were carefully glued at some point. There is also surface tear on Roy’s cowboy hat on the front facing panel of the box. Otherwise, any flaws are minimal.
The yo-yos are on eBay on a regular basis if you have the inclination to get a few to put into the box for display purposes -- but the box alone displays beautifully.
Please take a close look at the photos and judge the condition from them. They tell the story and are as much a part of my item description as my words. Between the photos and my written description, you should have a pretty complete picture of the condition of this item.
