Disney Channel Lion King Promotional 11 inch Wall Clock 1996 non-working

Beautiful battery operated wall clock promotional item from the Disney Channel. The shipping box it came in has a postmark of October 25, 1996. The case and clock seem to be in excellent condition, but when I put a AA battery in it, it did not run. I can't see visually any reason it would not work, but I could not get it to work. It would still be a great decorative element in a Disney collection, or if you're a watch or clock repairer, you might be able to get it to work. It's priced and being sold as is in non-working condition with original shipping box as shown in the photos.
